History
The MIG-21 was made by the Mikoyan-Guryevich Design Bureau of the Soviet Union, equipped with a Tumansky R-11 turbo jet engine of 12,980 pounds thrust power (afterburner included). Its maximum speed is 2.05 Mach and service ceiling is 64,334 feet. It carries one Nudelman-Rikhter NR-30 cannon, and can be equipped with traditional weapons such as missiles, rockets and general bombs. It was duplicated and improved into J-7 by the Mainland China, and it was an identical type of the one which flew from Sanshilipu Airport of Liaodong Peninsula, China to Chen-Nan (K-16) base of South Korean on August 7, 1983 by anti-communist hero Sun Tian-Chin. The aircraft is still left in Korean territory. The J-7 fighter represents one of the superior fighters of the Mainland China Air Force.
