History
C-46, made by the US Curtiss-Wright Co, was equipped with two 2,000 hp R-2800-75 axial engine, maximum speed 234 nautical miles per hour, and service ceiling is 27,600 feet. It could carry 35-50 passengers. It joined the Air Force service in 1945 with soldier-carrying, airdropping and airlifting missions during the periods of fighting against Japanese and suppressing rebellions. After the central government moved to Taiwan, it was used for missions, such as airdropping in Mainland China, special combat, administrative air transport of pelagic and islands, and flying training of Academy air transport units. It was officially retired with excellent performance in 1969.
