Keynote Speeches for the First Half of the Academic Year 2015 at the Cadet Corps, R.O.C. Air Force Academy
DATE:2015-03-13

The Cadet Corps of the Air Force Academy had the privilege to invite Mr. Zhu Yu-zhi, former superintendent of the Academy, to deliver a speech titled “Forget Not Your Original Intention,” which was well acclaimed by participating cadets. During the speech, Mr. Zhu encouraged the cadets to strengthen their faith and never forget their original intention when faced with upcoming flight training and challenges in life. They must set noble goals and ideals and head toward them bravely and without hesitation. They should also diversify their development and learning to cultivate themselves internally and externally, so that they will become a modernized armed force well versed in civil and military affairs. Finally, they should nurture their ability to innovate, lead and coordinate, so as to carry on good traditions and the Jianqiao spirit (referring to the Jianqiao Battle in 1937, in which the R.O.C. Air Force fought bravely against the Japanese fighters). Mr. Zhu expected the cadets to contribute to the country and the people. After the speech, the cadets took a photo with Mr. Zhu and expressed their gratitude for his concern regarding their academic performance, as well as his help in promoting academic activities and affairs.
