The “R.O.C. Air Force Academy 95th Anniversary” celebrations and sports carnival was held today (9/20). Academy Superintendent Major-General Hu presided over the event with the Flight Training Command (FTC), the 3rd Logistics Area Command, and Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) invited to participate as well.
The event saw active service people and cadets brought together, making it more than just a sporting competition but also a festival to promote the Jianqiao spirit. The spirit of sportsmanship was embraced by all athletes as well to make the event an unqualified success.
The first event was the dragon and lion dancing performance by the AFIT, followed by a parade drill performance from Academy cadets. Next came the 400m and 1600m relays, fun challenges, tug-of-war, and team tug-of-war. The cadets and service people throwing themselves into the competitions to achieve the best results for their unit served to boost rapport and cohesion.
