To cultivate high-quality military leaders and enhance the overall combat capability of the forces, Major General Hu, the Air Force Academy’s principal, recently attended the opening ceremony of the University Reserve Officer Training Corps at TransWorld University. He urged students to inspire each other, learn to become effective leaders, accumulate professional knowledge, and contribute to the nation’s defense.
First, Principal Hu thanked TransWorld University for providing faculty and equipment, enabling students to focus on learning in a quality environment. He also welcomed 16 new students to join the ranks of those safeguarding airspace, encouraging them to maintain a positive attitude, actively engage in rigorous military training, continually improve their professional and military skills, bravely tackle challenges in their duties and lives, and become key leaders in the forces, promoting the growth and strength of the military.
Principal Hu emphasized that despite frequent provocations by the enemy, the Taiwanese people do not need to worry because the military consistently demonstrates high professionalism and confidence, steadfastly defending the security of the Taiwan Strait. Principal Hu stated, “The times test the youth, and the youth create the times.” Modern youth not only understand that joining the military is the best choice, but also take the nation’s rise or fall as their responsibility. Through rigorous testing and training, young people will steadfastly uphold patriotic beliefs and shoulder the heavy responsibility of defending national security.
