Sweetest Champion: Congratulations to the AFA for Championing the College Staff Table Tennis Competition (Group C)
DATE:2020-11-30
The only thing better than winning something is losing it.and winning it back.
At National Cheng Kung University on November 27-28, after the tense schedule, the Air Force Academy (AFA) championed the College Staff Table Tennis Competition (Group C). Team members included the following eight units: Department of Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering, Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Teaching Faculties, Air Force Air Defense and Artillery Command, and Sports Section. The AFA won three points from three doubles and two singles.
When playing against China Medical University at the prelim, we determined the following strategy: training with a random grouping for the final- not to win the group match- forming two new groups for the doubles. It was risky though, but we have strong single players.
At the end, at the last point against China Medical University, the new group formed with the academician president won the doubles at deuce with 14:12 with his long pimp rubber. Tactically, however, we succeeded in entering the final.
There was one empty point at the final on day 2. Opponents at the final included National Chung Hsing University and Takming University of Science and Technology. With four-point power, we battled all finalists and took the champion at the final! We need to thank the AFA for allowing us to join the contest and exchange at the national college competitions. It was a quite good experience.
The 2021 Intercollegiate Athletic Games will be held at National Cheng Kung University. The venue will be one of Taiwan’s only two 5G venues (it is Taipei Arena in Taipei). It is hoped that everyone can watch the event to experience 5G.
