Why are calculus and college physics compulsory for Air Force Academy cadets?
For science and engineering cadets going for majors in aeronautics, aeronautic machination, and aeronautic electronics from sophomore year, calculus and college physics are the foundation of the science and engineering program, and the lack of such fundamental knowledge is detrimental to the cadet’s development in the expertise. For aviation management cadets, calculus is an introduction to applied mathematics courses, and college physics is one of the compulsory general courses of natural science.
