The course planning of the department is similar to that of the aeronautic and astronautic department of non-military colleges/universities where cadets gradually take a firm grasp of relevant expertise over the four-year program comprising eight semesters, and strive for continued development. As the goal of the Academy is the training of air force officers specialized in pilot and technical duties, academic and technical military training is provided between semesters (i.e. during winter and summer vacations) to establish the quality of military character and leadership.
