Combat Section

History:

 In 21st year of the Republic Era, Jianqiao gathered those first class graduates from Central Military Academy of aviation and people who have study aviation abroad to be the first of Advanced Section.

 The Advance Section went to the United States to train with T-6 aircraft during the Second Sino-Japanese War, and move back to Jianqiao in 35th year after the war. In October, 38th year, the section moves to its present site in Kangshan. In 46th year, the section was enhanced to use T-33 aircraft, and AT-3 aircraft is officially used in November 2005.

 Those who finished the section over years distributed to forces have created splendid record in 814 Aerial Warfare etc. It's one of our training ordeals. In the future, we will continue this training with strict and hard requirements in order to train more excellent combatants.

Combat Training Section Patch:

 In our patch, the elegant thick shield of victory shows the proud based on our modern science and technology of flying. Especially from eagle's bright and piercing eye makes pilots to have more self-expectations and to become military elite in order to defend our airspace.

Mission:

 The main task of this section is designed to equip the students completed from Basic Training Section. Continue to impose them advanced training in combat, and educate them to become a basis fighter pilot. The training process focused on the principles of flight and operating essentials investigate, in order to build a strong theoretical foundation and proper flight concept and link up the follow-up training, we continue to hone combat skills and tactics to achieve the task to protect the country and people.

Training Content:

1. Training objects: Air force Academy graduates who have completed from basic flight training of T-34 aircraft.

2. Training time: 6 months.

3. Training summary: The training process is divided into three stages; the main course includes landing routes, instrument flying, formation flying, combat formation, basic tactical maneuvers etc.

Vision:

 To let students familiar with the operating procedures of AT-3, to maintain the quality of training and under the flight safety, the section keep love as the basis, in line with principle of strict, hard and fine, and provide young men and women an extremely safe and challenging environment to fly. To cultivate tomorrows soldiers as a goal, the Combat Training Section invite you to join us.

AT-3 tactical combat trainer

1. History

 AT-3 is currently use in Combat Training Section, designing by Zhongshan Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Industry Development Center(Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation)co-developed with Northrop company with total production of 65. The aircraft is named "Tzu Chung", which means “self-reliance". It obviously react the Republic of China in the 1980s which encountered the difficult political and economic environment. It's the first mass-produces aircraft in 1984 and served in the Republic of China Air Force Academy.

•Length: 42 feet 4 inches (12.9 meters)

•Wingspan: 34 feet 3.75 inches (4.36 meters)

•Wing Area: 236.05 square feet (21.93 square meters)

•Empty Weight: 8,500 pounds (3,855 kilograms)

•Maximum Take Off Weight: 17,505 pounds (7,940 kilograms)
