To honor the valor of the R.O.C. Air Force and enforce the all-out defense policy, the Academy began constructing the Military Airplanes Display Area in 1983, with the approval of the Ministry of National Defense. Designed in line with the overall spatial planning of the campus, the display area was completed on Aug. 14, 1987. Currently, various types of decommissioned aircraft, the airplanes that flew from mainland China to Taiwan for its democracy, and army helicopters, totaling 41, as well as one Bofors 40 mm gun, are displayed.
